Indigenous Students

We are proud to provide students with a culturally supportive and comfortable environment where they can study, socialize, and access a wide range of resources. Our friendly staff are here to support you –academically, personally and spiritually. We also welcome all students, staff, and faculty who wish to learn more about Indigenous culture, traditions and teachings.

Georgian College

Indigenous Resource Centres are located at the Barrie Campus. Feasts, potlucks, cultural teachings, craft nights, study and lounge areas, and computers are just a few of the benefits provided through the resource centres. See why students call our centres their home away from home!

We are proud to offer many resources to help you succeed:

  • visiting Elder program
  • Niwijiagan (peer mentors)
  • Getsijig (Indigenous education counsellor)
  • Indigenous student advisor
  • community liaison
  • special events and promotions
  • Anishnaabe Education and Training Circle

For more information about the services provided through the resource centres, please visit the Georgian College website.
