You’ve Applied – Now What?

You’ve made a great choice applying to Lakehead-Georgian! Your application is just the beginning of your adventure. The following steps will help you know what to expect and how to keep your application on track.

1. Watch for your acknowledgement email

We’ll send you an acknowledgement email when we receive your application. Your acknowledgement email will also provide you with:

  • your student identification (ID) number (i.e. 674321)
  • your username and password to access myInfo and myEmail (your student information portal and your Lakehead email account)

Check that the email address you submitted to OUAC is correct – that’s how we’ll communicate with you initially. Please add our email to your safe senders list or contacts to ensure our emails reach you. If you don’t receive an acknowledgement email from us, please check your junk mail and spam folders and let us know if you haven’t received our email.

2. Keep your ID number handy

Your ID number, username and password are important to have on hand. Store them wherever you keep important information. You’ll need to provide your ID number when you inquire about your application. If you forget or are having trouble with your username and password, click here.

3. Check your Lakehead-Georgian email

myEmail is your Lakehead-Georgian email account. The username and password to access your email is listed in your acknowledgement email. Lakehead-Georgian will use this email account to communicate with you about your application. Please check this email account regularly for updates on your application and next steps, as well as information on scholarships and bursaries, residence, orientation, and more.

4. Set up your student information portal account

myInfo is your student information portal and the place where you can perform a variety of functions related to your enrolment both as an applicant and a student at Lakehead-Georgian. The username and password are the same as your email and provided to you in the acknowledgement email.

5. Track the status of your application online

Through myInfo you can track the status of your application at any time using the “Track My Application Status” feature. You’ll be notified of an offer of admission with an official welcome package from Lakehead-Georgian.

You can also see if we’re awaiting any further documentation or information from you by using the “View My Outstanding Documents” tool. We’ll accept unofficial documents to speed up our admission assessment. You can upload these documents directly to us using myInfo. However, if you’ve already requested documents to be sent to us, please do not send us additional copies.

We know you’re anxious to hear back about the status of your application, and we are committed to doing so in a timely manner. View the admission and offer timelines.
