Nicole Barbato has been a professor at Georgian College in the Environmental Technician/Technology Program since 2012 and is now a faculty member for the Lakehead-Georgian Environmental Sustainability degree-diploma program. She completed a BSc in Biology and Environmental Science at the University of Western Ontario and a MA in Geography and Resource Management at the University of Guelph.
Nicole teaches the Environmental Law and Policy course at Lakehead-Georgian. She also has expertise in stakeholder engagement and contaminants in the environment.
Nicole worked with Conservation Ontario – the association representing Ontario’s Conservation Authorities – for 10 years. During her time with Conservation Ontario she coordinated the drinking water source protection program, supporting collaborative policy development between the conservation authorities, ministries and other provincial partners. Nicole also supported the conservation authorities in numerous other related program areas including permit to take water, Great Lakes legislation and programs, and Ontario Low Water Response Program.
